Hours: 08.30-17.00 Monday – Thursday & 08.30-16.30 Friday

We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our Quality department. We are looking for a reliable, enthusiastic individual who wants to become part of our friendly, welcoming team.

Main Objective

To inspect sample parts to ensure they conform to specifications and meet the high standard requirements of Border Holdings (UK) Limited in support of the Company's business plan, quality standards and operational objectives.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Ensure that all supplier samples are checked against an original standard where possible (the original vehicle builders’ product) and, if available, a drawing
  • Where necessary, organise the ordering of OE samples via the purchase controller
  • Where the OE is not obtainable, ensure that samples are checked against other agreed standards e.g. drawing, proprietary part or current accepted stocked product
  • Responsibility for checking not only a supplier’s product to the suppliers drawing but also the drawing to the OVB standard
  • To ensure the recording of all relevant checked information on the New Sample Data / Progress sheet by the inspector carrying out the verification
  • Responsible for liaising with Workshop about possible sample fitment and or bench test
  • To furnish the Purchasing department with a copy of the relevant checking report and explain any non-conformity
  • To clearly identify accepted samples and make them ready for locating in the Samples Area
  • Ensure that reject samples are clearly identified and located in the bonded area
  • Carry out any other duties as required and as commensurate with role

Previous experience within a Quality Department is essential.
