It is recommended that a fluid and filter change are carried out before 75,000 miles or 50,000 miles in arduous conditions. The only practical way to do this and ensure a 99% fluid exchange is using dedicated equipment. Overtime fluid and additives in your Land Rover deteriorate, this can have impacts on the transmission by causing the carefully engineered friction coefficients and viscosity to alter. This can lead to harsh engagements and rough or slipping shifts as the critical, controlled clutch slip no longer responds as designed. Ultimately premature and expensive transmission failure is likely. Changing the fluid at 75,000 miles helps to restore operation and protect the transmission in the future.
The Launch UK CAT501S is an automatic transmission fluid exchange station which ensures a fast and trouble-free fluid exchange. Unlike traditional emptying methods of draining from the sump plug, the ATF machine will run a flushing detergent through the gearbox and exchange 99% of the total oil capacity. The CAT 501S is a fully featured product with a straightforward menu driven interface making it easy to use. Provided with a full set of adapters allowing connection to virtually all transmission types.

Why Change The Oil?
> The oil in a modern automatic transmission is highly engineered component as it serves may functions including lubrication, cooling, hydraulic application of clutches and power transmission via the torque convertor. > Modern transmissions utilise overlapping application of clutch packs at gear changes (instead of freewheels) and controlled slip of the torque convertor lock up clutch which puts greater stresses on the oil.
